Something just went wrong
Before you call anyone, there are usually two or three things worth doing in the next minute. These pages are those things, and nothing else.

Why we publish these
Every one of these pages tells you things that reduce what you need to pay us. Turning the water off yourself stops the damage before our plumber has left his house. Knowing that drain acid is the wrong answer saves you a pipe. Knowing that a gas smell is the gas company's job, not ours, saves you from calling the wrong person on the worst possible evening.
We would rather be the people who told you the truth about a small problem than the people who turned a small problem into a big invoice.
