Terms of service
What you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. In normal words.
Who we are
Pechkas is a home maintenance service operating in Islamabad, Pakistan. We are not a marketplace and we are not an agency. The technician who comes to your home works for us, we set the price, and we are responsible for the work.
[REGISTERED BUSINESS DETAILS]
Booking
A booking exists once we have agreed the job, the price and a time with you — normally in a WhatsApp message. Prices shown on this website are for the jobs described. Where a job is marked "Inspection first", the price for the repair can only be given after our technician has seen it; the inspection itself is charged at the rate shown on the price list, and is agreed with you before he sets off like any other job.
Prices and materials
The price we agree is the price for the labour of that job. It does not change once the technician arrives.
If the technician finds that the job is different from what was described, he will stop and tell you the new price before continuing. You may decline, and you will only pay for work already done.
Materials are charged separately at the price we paid for them, and we will show you the receipt. We do not add a margin to materials and we do not take commission from suppliers. You may supply your own materials, in which case the guarantee below covers our work but not your parts.
Payment
Payment is due when the work is finished, not before. We accept cash, Easypaisa, JazzCash or bank transfer.
The guarantee
We guarantee our workmanship for 15 days from the date of the job. If the same fault returns in that time, we will return and fix it at no charge. The full terms, including what is not covered, are on the guarantee page and form part of these terms.
Cancelling and rescheduling
You can cancel or move a booking by messaging us. [CANCELLATION POLICY]
If we have to cancel or move a booking, we will tell you as soon as we know, and we will not charge you anything for the change.
Access and safety
We need someone over eighteen at the property to let the technician in and to approve the work. Please tell us in advance about anything at the property that affects safety.
Our technicians will not carry out work they consider unsafe, or work that requires a licence or approval they do not hold. If that happens we will explain why and you will not be charged.
If we damage something
If our technician damages something in your home while working, tell us straight away and send a photo. Where the damage was caused by our work, we will repair or replace it at our cost.
We are not responsible for faults that already existed, for the failure of parts you supplied, or for problems that follow from work you declined after we recommended it. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost income, beyond the value of the job itself.
Complaints
Use the same WhatsApp number you booked on. It reaches the founders. We aim to answer every complaint personally.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the version that applies to your job is the one published when you made your booking.
[REVIEW BEFORE PUBLISHING]
This is a plain-language starting point, not legal advice. Before you go live, read it against how you actually work, fill in the registered business details and the cancellation policy, and have someone who knows Pakistani consumer law look it over if you can.
