The power is off in one room
One room dark, or a breaker that keeps tripping.
Do this now
- Check whether the rest of the house has power, and whether your neighbours do. If the whole street is dark it is load shedding or an IESCO fault, and there is nothing in your house to fix.
- Look at your DB and see whether one breaker has tripped.
- Unplug everything on that circuit first. Then switch the breaker back on, once.
- If it holds, plug things back in one at a time. The one that trips it again is your fault.

Whatever you do, don't
- Do not hold a breaker in the on position. It is trying to tell you something.
- Do not replace a tripping breaker with a bigger one. That is how a wiring fault turns into a house fire.
- Do not keep resetting it over and over.
Then what?
If it trips again straight away with nothing plugged in, leave it off and message us — that is a fault in the wiring or the breaker itself, not an overload. Tell us what was running when it first went, because that usually names the culprit.
